Doug Emmett walked off the set and we were forced to hire a new D.P. at the last minute. This guys name is Calix Lundstrom. You may have heard of him, he shot “2001 : A Space Odyssey”, “Kundun”, and “Days of Heaven” …

Andrew carried him around the set so he could make sure the lighting was up to snuff. He has a very discerning eye and implemented a mandatory crew nap-time, which was greatly appreciated by the crew and abhorred by production.

Calix also let us use his snorkel lens system, pictured above.

The videos screen in Barcelona on February 12th….
We will post them soon thereafter.

Supermarché Art-Directs Top Secret Music Video
Monday, October 27th, 2008
Last week we art directed a top secret music video for our friends over at Greencard Pictures, produced by our #1 favorite producer Melody Roscher, directed by our British friend Jim Canty. We can’t give you any hints as to who the artist was except to say that he is so famous they have interns over at the record label trolling the internet to find out if anyone posts photos from the set of his music video before it is released.
Here’s a sweet little bedroom set we designed in the apartment of Jim Barber.
Here’s one of our top 2 favorite A.D.’s in NYC : John Mingalone.
By the end of the day our only responsibility was to keep track of 2 coffee cups. Good thing we had back-ups.

Island Tour, #6 - Last Stop
Wednesday, May 14th, 2008
After we arrived in Orient, we drove to Greenport, took a ferry to Shelter Island, drove across Shelter Island, took a ferry to Sag Harbor, picked up some friends at the train, borrowed our friends baby blue 1967 Ford Galaxie convertible, and shot the last commercial of the trip. It’s the best one.

Here’s a still from the director’s cut….coming soon.

Supermarché Nominated for a Webby! Vote!
Wednesday, April 9th, 2008
We’ve been nominated for a Webby Award, which I’ve been told are like the Academy Awards for things on the internet, except not hosted by Billy Crystal.
This great honor has been bestowed upon our video “What’s the Big Idea? (with Danny DeVito)” which we made for GOOD Magazine’s cover story in December.
Please vote for our video so we might have a shot at a “People’s Voice” award!!
you will find our film in the “Online Film & Video” section under the “Variety” category.
We’re up against such small fries as The New York Times so a groundswell of pro-Supermarché sentiment could really help us out.
if you haven’t seen the video, click here to check it out on youtube.
also better quality right here on our website.
Remember to spread the word, and thanks!
