Supermarché in Cabs
Tuesday, July 7th, 2009

A 15-second version of our new Ciroc Ultra Premium Vodka commercial is airing on Taxi TV, so don’t turn that thing off next time you jump in a cab. We’ve had reports of dozens of sightings around NYC, but the sniper award goes to producer Justin Lundstrom for snapping this picture on his blackberry.

Sperry Telecine
Tuesday, June 9th, 2009

We went by Technicolor yesterday to transfer the Sperry footage with colorist Sam Daley. They have a great set-up for super-8. The footage looks lovely & we start cutting today.

Lost in the Bermuda Triangle
Wednesday, May 6th, 2009
We dispatched Andrew and Nev to Bermuda on Sunday to shoot a commercial for luxury resort Tucker’s Point, in Bermuda. Poor guys. These stills below are their first contact, along with the simple message “Everything’s Great.”

If these stills are any indication, things bode well for this upcoming spot.

Harvard Business School : Days 2 - 7
Sunday, May 3rd, 2009
I recently spent a week at Harvard Business School, directing a new recruitment video for their admissions office. The agency was Mono, the producers were Melody Roscher and Justin Lundstrom, the cinematographer was Ed David, the hotel was DoubleTree, and the time was fun.
All of these photos were shot on 35mm film (except the last one) by the inestimable Kelly Munson, Design Director at Mono.

Harvard is beautiful this time of year.

Ed David is beautiful this time of year.

I spent most of the time yelling into this box.

This was one of our more “high-concept” shots. The guy in the yellow pants drove a boat when they were shooting the opening sequence of “The River Wild“! Why is Jack Nicholson standing on the back of the boat?

Trailing one of our subjects, Kelsey, around the campus.

Our last day was back in New York, shooting an HBS alum and one of the founders of Green Irene, PJ Stafford. As you can see, Ed was shamed into both a haircut and a beardcut.

Back On Track : Trains Day 3

Shooting continues on our series of short films with model trains.

Studiomarché in action.

Andrew blocking a scene.

John Furgason: looming, brooding.

Cheeze-Its have dominated on-set snacking. We snack hard.

You’re going to have to wait a little while to the video this still is taken from, but we have a feeling it’s going to be worth the wait…
