IT’S HAPPENING….

Monday, August 17th, 2009

picture-1.png

After 3 years, our 35mm ballet film “NY Export: Opus Jazz” has officially been acquired by Channel 13 (WNET) for its 2010 Great Performances/Dance in America series.

The film is an adaptation of a 1958 ballet by Jerome Robbins starring dancers from New York City Ballet and shot on location all over New York City.

In 2007 we shot 1 movement from the ballet on the Highline.  Over the next 6 weeks we will be shooting the remaining 4 movements and many adjoining scenes.

Big shout-out to our Executive Producers (and NYCB dancers) Ellen & Sean and especially to our lawyer John for putting this whole thing together.

We start shooting in ONE WEEK!  Stay tuned….

So Proud

Saturday, June 20th, 2009

2 sets of dear friends and frequent collaborators screened their movies in the past couple of weeks.  There’s nothing quite as gratifying as seeing your friends’ movie play in front of a full house.

Josh & Benny Safdie of Red Bucket Films introduce their new film “Go Get Some Rosemary” to a house packed with friends at Walter Reade Theater.  Ariel art directed the film and Supermarché provided post-production facilities and equipment.  The film premiered at Cannes  Director’s Fortnight and now they’re on the festival circuit–next stop Munich.

Summer Nights

Friday, June 12th, 2009

When we don’t post for a while it means one of three things is going on.  1)  We’re super busy.  2) We’re super relaxed.  3)  We’re out of the country.   We’ve been having a lot of 1) going on lately and not a lot of 2).  But I did find time to go to the ball game with my dad the other night.  The new stadium is nice….and these seats weren’t bad either.
